Manual Handling Training

This session will cover important aspects of manual handling for CHSP programs who provide care to the frail aged.

Manual Handling is a significant part of WHS, which is a core component of your Quality Review process. This session is aimed at increasing and refreshing awareness and understanding of workplace manual handling tasks in an effort to prevent injuries. Participants will be able to identify and apply WHS for dealing with manual handling in the workplace.

Learning outcomes:

• Discussing a definition of manual handling, guidelines for safe manual handling and principles of risk management
• Explaining basic anatomy & biomechanics applied to manual handling that inform facilitation of normal movement patterns
• Demonstrating of equipment used to assist safe manual handling
