This session will cover important aspects of food safety and infection control issues for CHSP programs who provide care to the frail aged.
Learning outcomes:
Food safety:
- demonstrate understanding of the food handling fundamentals – how to
- Maintain legal obligations and personal hygiene
- Control the time and temperature of potentially dangerous foods
- Conduct good food handling practices
Infection control:
- Increased awareness and understandings of infection control fundamentals
- Increased understanding of how to maintain legal obligations and personal hygiene
- Improved capacity to apply transmission-based precautions – PPE in healthcare
- Improved access to practical resources and tools to develop good infection control practices
