The Royal Commission into Aged Care Quality and Safety Final Report released in 2021 identified food and nutrition as a priority area of attention
Let’s explore the shift from sustainable nutritional requirements to prioritising quality of life and comfort for each individual
This workshop will:
- Address why food matters in aged care, from the start, to, end of life
- Unpack the intricacies of the palliative care journey as it relates to food
- Look at the changing nutritional need of people as their condition changes
- Health and Wellbeing; explore the direct relationship between cultural and religious beliefs, and food, social and emotional experiences
- Explore supporting individual choices and ‘Dignity of Risk’
- Discuss the impacts of food on those living with dementia

This workshop is targeted to those involved in lifestyle and activities in aged and community care as well as students.
