The new Aged Care Act and the Strengthened Standards are underpinned by a human rights approach and the critical importance of ensuring an understanding of the older persons life experiences and needs to deliver the best high-quality care.
The session will help you to
- Understanding what trauma is, and how using a trauma aware and healing informed approach impacts care and service delivery
- Recognise how your history and beliefs may impact on care and services you provide
- Explore ways to recognise and respond to behaviours which may indicate a history of trauma
