Agnieszka Chudecka works at the intersection of multicultural ageing, communication, aged care reform and implementation.

She is PICAC Alliance Secretariat Lead, Policy Lead at Multicultural Aged Care SA (MAC) and a doctoral researcher at Flinders University exploring how language, culture, communication and dementia influence care experiences, service access and support for older people from culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) backgrounds.

Her interdisciplinary background spans linguistics, communication, gerontology and dementia studies. Agnieszka holds a Master of Polish Philology from the Jagiellonian University, a Master of Dementia Studies from the University of Tasmania and a Graduate Diploma in Applied Gerontology from Flinders University. Her doctoral research focuses on stakeholders’ perceptions of the care needs of people from CALD backgrounds living with dementia, including the phenomenon of language reversion.

Since the establishment of PICAC SA, Agnieszka has supported aged care providers through sector development, education, resource development, stakeholder engagement and implementation support. Her work increasingly focuses on the practical conditions required for older people to access, understand, navigate and benefit from aged care services in practice.

Through her roles with PICAC Alliance, MAC and the National Aged Care Alliance (NACA), Agnieszka contributes to national conversations on aged care reform implementation, communication, cultural safety, workforce capability, trusted navigation and equitable access to care. She currently serves on the NACA Steering Committee representing the Consumer Constituency and has previously served as Co-Chair of NACA’s Human Rights Strategic Priority Group.

A certified Cultural Detective Facilitator, Agnieszka brings together research, policy, provider experience and community perspectives to support culturally responsive aged care and positive outcomes for diverse communities.

Born and educated in Kraków, Poland, Agnieszka migrated to Australia in 2009. Her multicultural lived experience continues to inform her commitment to helping people, communities and systems better understand one another.
